Golden West Women Set National, State Records

The Golden West women’s swim team set a national record and a state record Friday at the Community College State Championships at East Los Angeles College.
In the 800 freestyle relay, Micha Burden, Kirsten Rich, Ashley Selleh and Alyson Edoff won in 7 minutes 39.72 seconds, bettering the national mark of 7:40.18 set by Indian River (Fla.) in 1991.
In the 200 medley relay, Maja Grozdanic, Deborah Hoyt, Burden and Rich set a state record, finishing in 1:49.31. The previous mark was 1:49.82, set by Riverside in 1998.
