The Unsuitable South

I’m wondering how an article highlighting travel to South Carolina could appear in the Travel section (“Colonial Corners of the South,” April 23).
As a major newspaper published in a city as culturally diverse as ours, surely you are aware that South Carolina flies the Confederate flag at its state capitol and that many of your readers might be offended at the inclusion of that state as a “great” destination to spend their travel dollars. I certainly was.
