Placentia Police Lt. Robert Jones will receive the city’s Employee Recognition Award, which honors outstanding workers.
Jones began with Placentia as an officer in 1971 and was promoted to lieutenant in 1980. He has served as watch commander and detective bureau commander and is now in charge of the Professional Standards Bureau, where he oversees the hiring and training of officers and conducts internal investigations.
“No one is more loyal to this organization,” one supervisor wrote in a review of his work. City officials said Jones has received a rating of “outstanding” on his review for each of the 23 years he’s worked for the department.
