The Dana Point Youth Board is scheduled tonight to hear a report on the “peer court” concept, in which teens serve as jurors to judge other teens. The Youth Board, composed of Dana Hills High School students, was approved by the City Council in April to consider youth issues and give teens a say in city decisions affecting them.
Some of the board’s goals include creating a teen center, a skateboard park and a teen-charity volunteer program, and establishing a better relationship with Dana Point Police Services.
The board meets the first and third Thursdays of every month.
Tonight’s meeting begins at 6:30 in the council chambers at 33282 Street of the Golden Lantern.
