CEO Wealth Chart Feeds Unhealthy Obsession
- Share via
I read the Business section avidly and thoroughly daily. I applaud you for including good columns by decent writers (Tom Petruno, Lawrence J. Magid and Esther Dyson), especially on Monday after the markets have been closed.
But I utterly deplore the “Stock Wealth of CEOs” box. It reinforces a truly unhealthy obsession with other people’s salaries at a time when people in this culture need to direct their attention to information, ideas and events that really matter. This is lowest-common-denominator stuff and doesn’t belong in a newspaper of quality.
