Commission Is Useful

* Your Nov. 14 article, “L.A. County Porn Commission Has No Meetings, No Funding,” is correct in stating that the San Fernando Valley is the pornography capital of the world. The Obscenity and Pornography Commission is a group of dedicated volunteers who provide a valuable service to the county without any financial incentive. It is not necessary for the entire commission to meet on a regular basis in order to be beneficial to our county.
Recently, the commission produced a very informative brochure to advise parents and children about the dangers of child pornography. This brochure has been sent out to schools throughout the county. Additionally, numerous organizations have requested more than 7,000 copies of this brochure.
