Gotcha Glacier Signs Sport Chalet to Lease
- Share via
A company that hopes to build a giant indoor snowboarding and wave-pool park beside Anaheim’s Edison International Field said Friday it has signed a lease with its first major tenant, Sport Chalet Inc., which will operate a sporting-goods store at the complex. Glacier of Anaheim LLC of San Juan Capistrano, the developer of the Gotcha Glacier complex, had been in lengthy talks with La Canada Flintridge-based Sport Chalet. Glacier Chief Executive Brad Kinney said agreements with other tenants will be announced in a few days, including one with Jillian’s, an operator of high-tech entertainment centers featuring bars, restaurants, billiards, bowling and other games. Kinney would not disclose terms of the leases, except to say they are for 15 to 35 years, and he declined to discuss financing for the $130-million project. Executives have said previously that the partnership must lock in tenants and sponsors before investors will lend it funds for the unusual project.
