LOS ANGELES — Two men were arrested Friday on suspicion of murder after a 22-year-old man was fatally stabbed when a crowd left the Los Angeles Sports Arena earlier this week after the taping of “Battle Dome,” a television show known for its combative nature.
Los Angeles Police Officer Guillermo Campos said the stabbing took place about 9 p.m Thursday in 3900 block of South Figueroa Street.
Campos said authorities were withholding the name of the victim pending notification of his family. The names of the suspects were not immediately available, he added. During Thursday night’s incident two other people received minor injuries, he said.
“Battle Dome” is a sports entertainment TV show that combines dramatic plot lines along with a physical competition similar to wrestling. It pits a team of amateur athletes against a team of professionals known as the Battle Dome Warriors.
