No Exit Polls
* I respectfully abstained from your exit poll Tuesday evening after voting, and encourage others in my community to do the same in the future. We voters are constantly inundated with polling data, and while I think these data have a place, I feel strongly that when it comes to election day, the media should, as a matter of editorial policy, respectfully defer to official results and stop all polling, speculation and predictions of outcomes. Doing so will help prevent fiascoes such as the popular media’s miscall of Florida in the last presidential election, which I and many others feel affected the results of that contest.
