A 20-year-old woman was found stabbed to death Saturday morning in a pickup parked along a road in the San Gabriel Mountains, and deputies were looking for a man who withdrew $400 from her account at an ATM Friday night.
The coroner’s office identified her as Christina Burmeister of Cerritos.
The body was found about 9:30 a.m. by sheriff’s deputies from the San Dimas station. The vehicle was parked on California 39 in the mountains north of Azusa.
Investigators were looking for a man videotaped as he withdrew money from Burmeister’s account at a Washington Mutual branch at 9133 Central Ave. in Montclair just before midnight on Friday.
He wore a sweatshirt with the hood pulled down on his face, said Sgt. Brenda Cambra.
Two men also photographed using the ATM at about the same time might have seen the hooded man, and deputies are looking for them as witnesses.
Anyone with information is asked to call sheriff’s homicide investigators at (323) 890-5500.
