Radio Station Reviewing Its Ties to Snoop Dogg

Nancy Leichter, general manager of KKBT-FM, said last week that the station is reviewing its relationship with rap star Snoop Dogg after a local activist demanded that the station drop the rapper’s syndicated music show.
The activist, Najee Ali, said the station, also known as 100.3 The Beat, should end its relationship with Snoop because the artist appears in a pornographic video released this week by Hustler Video.
“For the time being, we support Snoop’s artistic freedom of expression,” Leichter said Friday. That support does not imply any endorsement of the video, she said.
The video has become a hot-selling item, according to Hustler, which plans to release a series of them. The rapper and Hustler will share in the profits of the videos, said Jimmy Flynt II, publicity chief for Hustler Video.
The radio station has been outspoken against the sexual and misogynistic content of some rap music.
