An assistant principal at Pacifica High School has been named principal of Oxnard High School.
James Edwards, 52, will replace Jim Nielsen, who left Sept. 28 to take a job as director of secondary education in the Las Virgenes Unified School District.
The Oxnard Union High School District Board of Trustees appointed Edwards to the post this week, after a selection committee interviewed eight applicants. Edwards, who has been with the Oxnard district since 1987, was the committee’s top choice.
He starts his new job Monday.
