Times NFL writer Sam Farmer poses--and answers--the burning questions for this week’s games:
Question: Remember the Titans?
Answer: Neither do we. Tennessee is 0-3, and ballyhooed defensive ends Jevon Kearse and Kevin Carter have yet to record a sack.
Q: Can’t a team bounce back from a 0-3 start?
A: Sure, but only five teams have made the playoffs that way.
Q: Who are the NFL’s most intimidating enforcers?
A: The fashion police. Nine St. Louis Rams were fined $5,000 each for wearing socks either too low or too high.
Q: Are the Pittsburgh Steelers allergic to the end zone?
A: It seems that way. They are the AFC’s worst team in the red zone and haven’t thrown a touchdown pass in three weeks.
Q: Can Leonard Davis be seen from space?
A: Not yet, but Arizona’s rookie right guard could show up on satellite pictures soon. Coach Dave McGinnis said veteran guard Pete Kendall is “making Leonard Davis grow.” And just think: Davis is already 6 feet 6, 370 pounds.
