Driver Flees After Killing 88-Year-Old Pedestrian

Police were searching Friday for the driver of a car that fatally struck an 88-year-old man and fled.
Eddie Dee Johnson was crossing the street in the 8400 block of Central Avenue about 8:45 p.m. Thursday when the car hit him, throwing him onto the hood.
The car was a black or dark green 1982 Toyota Celica Supra with the license plate 4RUH487, police said.
Investigators have been unable to find the car or its owner.
