Two men suspected of committing a series of armed robberies this week in Port Hueneme and Oxnard were arrested early Thursday after leading police on simultaneous foot and car chases, authorities said.
Benjamin Swan, 46, and Daniel Miramontes, 27, were taken into custody shortly before 1 a.m. after allegedly robbing an Oxnard 7-Eleven store and then fleeing into a Port Hueneme retirement community, police said.
One of the men was captured after jumping out of their car and running; the driver was arrested a few blocks away after a short pursuit.
The suspects, both Port Hueneme residents, were allegedly involved in several area holdups, including one on Sunday at a Carl’s Jr. in Port Hueneme and another on Tuesday at a Ralphs supermarket in Port Hueneme.
