From Times wire reports
An off-duty Elizabethton, Tenn., sheriff’s deputy, who was in court on bad check charges, saved his job when he chased and captured a prisoner who fled the courtroom.
Carter County Lt. Rocky Croy, waiting in civilian clothes for his case to come up, jumped out of his seat and chased the man who bolted from the courtroom.
“Go get him, Rocky!” the judge shouted from the bench.
Assistant Dist. Atty. Ken Baldwin then asked the judge to dismiss the charges against Croy, saving his 20-year career.
