Troy Baseball Field Might Be Ready Friday

Fullerton Troy baseball Coach Dane Ilertsen said he expects the school’s baseball field to be ready for play by Friday after a single-engine plane crashed through the outfield fence last week and landed upside down in center field.
Neither the pilot nor his two passengers were seriously injured in the accident, which occurred just before 6 a.m. last Friday after the plane’s engine failed. The plane leaked fuel and oil, and a convoy of vehicles damaged the turf during the cleanup process.
Troy (12-9, 8-3) moved its home game scheduled for today against Freeway League rival La Habra (9-11, 3-8) to La Habra’s field. The teams meet again Friday at Troy if the Warriors’ field is ready.
