A local anti-crime program is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of vandals who spray-painted “hate-related messages” on five murals at Chicano Park in Barrio Logan and also at the Centro Cultural de la Raza building in Balboa Park.
The Crimestoppers program reward was announced Friday by Deputy Dist. Atty. Hector Jimenez, head of the district attorney’s hate-crime section.
“We must not allow this type of heinous behavior to exist in our neighborhoods,” said Councilwoman Toni Atkins.
