Two men were arrested Thursday in connection with the alleged theft of 15 Toyota Camrys last week in the Santa Clarita Valley, authorities said.
Paul Gordon, 25, and Jonathan Robert Gautreaux, 19, both of Santa Clarita, were apprehended as they allegedly tried to steal a 16th car at a Canyon Country shopping center, said Lt. Larry Gump of the Santa Clarita sheriff’s station. Another suspect is still at large.
At least eight cars were stolen between Sunday and Tuesday, Gump said, adding that investigators believe other people are involved in the car theft ring that targeted vehicles in Newhall and Canyon Country. Four of the Camrys--one of the most frequently stolen cars in the nation--have been recovered.
