Blimp Crashes Into Nursery

A Goodyear blimp crashed into a plant nursery near its Carson mooring Wednesday night after operators pulling it to the ground with ropes lost control of it.
The blimp drifted almost 300 yards and crashed nose first into trees in the nursery near 192nd and Main streets, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
The two people aboard, the pilot and a cameraman, escaped serious injury, although the cameraman complained of pain in his knee and was taken to a hospital, Deputy Aaron Bartsch said.
The incident occurred around 10 p.m., and the blimp remained in the nursery late into the night. It appeared to have some nose damage but the extent wasn’t known.
