Diagnostic Says Violations Possible

Diagnostic Products Corp., which makes more than 400 kinds of test kits for detecting diseases, allergies or drug abuse, said payments made by a Chinese unit to customers may have been illegal.
The Los Angeles company gave information to the Justice Department and the Securities and Exchange Commission on payments made by the subsidiary that may have violated foreign and U.S. laws. A managing director in China has been put on administrative leave, Chief Financial Officer James Brill said.
