“Big River” is rolling on to Broadway. The Deaf West Theatre production of the Huckleberry Finn musical is slated to open July 17 at the 740-seat American Airlines Theatre, playing through Oct. 5.
It will be a co-production by Roundabout Theatre and Deaf West, the company based in a 90-seat North Hollywood space, where the production originated in 2001.
Last fall, the production played the Mark Taper Forum, and the new production will be “in association with” the Taper.
