From Times Staff Reports
There was a lot of traffic but no fatal accidents on Ventura County highways during the long Labor Day weekend, matching last year’s record, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Arrests for driving under the influence were also nearly identical to 2002, with 24 logged as of midnight Monday, authorities said Tuesday. That compares with 23 for the previous year’s maximum enforcement period.
There were 25 accidents, nine involving injuries, CHP spokesman Steve Reid said.
