Networks Request FCC Case Hearing
Major television networks asked an appellate court in Philadelphia to reconsider its order refusing to transfer about a dozen lawsuits challenging the Federal Communications Commission’s media-ownership rules to a sister court in Washington.
Attorneys for CBS, Fox and NBC are appealing a decision issued earlier this week by a three-judge panel of the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals, requesting another hearing before the full court.
The networks say the Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia has more expertise in broadcast regulations, but media watchdog groups say the TV giants are hoping that the Washington court will be more sympathetic to their case.
