Oaks Christian Aims to Play Mission Viejo

Westlake Village Oaks Christian, the two-time defending Southern Section Division XI champion, is close to finalizing a two-year deal to play defending Division II champion Mission Viejo in football starting next season, Oaks Christian Athletic Director Jan Hethcock said Friday.
The Lions, whose highly regarded quarterback and running back, Jimmy Clausen and Marc Tyler, will be seniors next season, also are trying to set up a nonleague game with perennial Division I power Santa Ana Mater Dei. Oaks Christian has already scheduled nonleague games with Ventura St. Bonaventure, the defending Division IV champion, and Pomona Diamond Ranch.
