Finalists for new media Emmy listed

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences released the nominations Monday for the first Emmy Award that will recognize entertainment programs created specifically for new media, such as iPods, mobile phones and websites.
The nominees are “24: Conspiracy,” a mobisode by Fox Mobile Entertainment based on the hit drama; “It’s Jerrytime!,” an animated blog by Ozone Inc.; “Live 8 on AOL,” live webcasts of poverty relief concerts around the world; “mtvU Stand In,” short-form episodes for mtvU’s broadband channel; “Sophie Chase,” an online series by CB Films Inc.; and “Stranger Adventures: Helen Beaumont,” an online interactive adventure series by Riddle Productions.
The new Emmy award received 74 entries in its first year, the most for any category. The winner will be announced April 22 in New York.
