From Associated Press
Blockbuster Inc. plans to cut 300 jobs as part of a $75-million cost-cutting campaign, its second round of layoffs in a year.
Dallas-based Blockbuster said it would lay off 200 corporate employees over the next two weeks and would not fill 100 jobs.
Blockbuster’s video rental service continues to lag, and its online rental service is growing slower than expected. Blockbuster cut 200 jobs last spring, mostly through layoffs, as it came under pressure from financier Carl Icahn to trim costs.
