The Views From Her Home Have a Personal Touch

Lovely views--stark, unimaginative interiors from which to gaze at them (“Dreamscapes,” by Barbara Thornburg, Home Design Issue, March 18). What happens at night, when all is black outside and the inside is spare and bleak? I guess you have to wait for clear skies and a full moon.

The views made me appreciate more than ever my interesting old home filled with treasures collected over the years. And, yes, there are lovely views from almost every room: front, back and side yards, courtyard, pool, arbor, trees, flowers. When night comes, at the flip of a switch, I can see it all bathed in another light. It’s not as majestic as the mountains, desert and sea featured in your issue, but oh so beautiful and personal.
