Gunman kills 3 in church sanctuary

A gunman in a church sanctuary killed three people and wounded several more, authorities said. About 25 to 50 people were briefly held hostage at the First Congregational Church in Neosho until the gunman surrendered, police said.
Police said that the shooter was related to someone in the church, and that he was in custody but that no charges had been filed. He had two handguns and a semiautomatic machine pistol with a large magazine, they said.
