628 sickened by peanut butter

ConAgra Foods Inc.’s peanut butter, recalled in February after it was linked to a salmonella outbreak, sickened 628 people in 47 states, according to a report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
CDC investigators found salmonella Tennessee, a rare strain of the bacteria, in 21 jars of Peter Pan and Great Value peanut butter taken from patients’ homes and in 15 unopened jars at the company’s factory in Sylvester, Ga. ConAgra manufactured Great Value peanut butter for Wal-Mart Stores Inc.
ConAgra plans to re-introduce its Peter Pan peanut butter in July and hopes to win back the Wal-Mart business, said Stephanie Childs, a company spokeswoman. The Georgia plant should re-open in August.
