Re “Jefferson faces House investigation,” June 6
While Rep. William Jefferson (D-La.) may face a lengthy prison sentence for allegedly receiving kickbacks of as much as $500,000, Vice President Dick Cheney’s former company, Halliburton, has “misplaced” billions of U.S. taxpayers’ money in Iraq, yet no one is being held accountable.

Re “Jefferson indicted on graft charges,” June 5
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-San Francisco) and the Democrats campaigned against the Republican “culture of corruption.” When she claimed her party would clean up Washington, I guess she exempted the cash-filled freezer of fellow Democrat Jefferson.
