Mayor names lawyer to public works board

Julie Gutman, a lawyer for the National Labor Relations Board, was appointed as a Board of Public Works commissioner Monday by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.
Gutman replaces Dave Sickler, who resigned to become an assistant general manager at the Department of Water and Power.
Her appointment requires City Council approval.
