Abuse settlement: An article in Monday’s California section about settlements in sexual abuse lawsuits in the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Diego said the Diocese of Orange’s insurance and existing treasury would cover all or nearly all of a $100-million settlement reached to end 87 abuse claims there. The settlement, reached in 2004, has already been paid off. A separate $6.7-million settlement announced last week will be covered by insurance and existing diocesan funds.
