RV shipments fall 26% in May

Winnebago Industries Inc., Fleetwood Enterprises Inc. and other U.S. makers of motor homes and travel trailers shipped 25,000 vehicles in May, a 26% decline from a year earlier as fuel prices help push the industry toward a seven-year low.
The monthly figure includes declines of 48% from a year earlier for motor homes and 22% for travel trailers, the Recreation Vehicle Industry Assn. said. For the year through May, total shipments tumbled 14% from the same period last year to 139,000.
