Valley business leader to resign

The head of the Valley Industry and Commerce Assn., a San Fernando Valley business advocacy group, said Monday that he plans to resign his post at the end of the year.
Brendan Huffman, who spent 2 1/2 years at the association, said he is looking for a change. “I’m just ready for something else, and that’s the God’s honest truth. I’ve put a lot of energy and passion into this job,” he said.
Huffman is the husband of L.A. Unified school board member Tamar Galatzan, who represents parts of the San Fernando Valley.
Galatzan has also been mentioned as a possible candidate for the seat currently held by Los Angeles City Councilwoman Wendy Greuel, who represents part of the northeast Valley.
