Health Net suit settlement OKd

A federal judge in Newark, N.J., has approved a $255-million settlement to resolve a case involving managed-care provider Health Net Inc. and the reimbursement claims of more than 2 million people.
Health Net will pay $215 million to patients who received low reimbursement for out-of-network claims, plaintiffs’ attorney Barry Epstein said.
The Woodland Hills-based company also will make business practice changes valued at $40 million, according to a statement from a law firm representing the plaintiffs.
