A man was killed Thursday after suspected gang members burst into a Riverside house, shooting and beating four occupants.
One of the attackers was shot dead in the assault, which occurred about 3:30 p.m. in the 3200 block of Celeste Drive, just north of UC Riverside.
Police spokesman Steven Frasher said two suspects entered the house and began shooting. Two occupants were shot, one had serious head wounds from a beating and the fourth had a minor wound to his finger. The wounded were taken to the hospital.
The surviving gunman remains at large. Frasher said police don’t know who killed the intruder. The motive for the attack is not known, though robbery is suspected. Frasher said all those involved were males in their 20s, but their identities have not been released.
