“Gone With the Wind” will soon be gone with the wind -- at least in London, where a musical version of Margaret Mitchell’s famous novel failed to draw large crowds.
Producers say the musical will close June 14 -- three months ahead of schedule -- because of poor ticket sales. London’s critics savaged the stage version when it opened in April.
The book, lyrics and music were written by Margaret Martin, a Los Angeles writer making her first venture into musical theater.
