* New York 9, at San Francisco 6: Pedro Martinez (1-0) pitched six innings and gave up seven hits, three runs and three walks and had three strikeouts on 109 pitches. He also had two singles and drove in a run.
* St. Louis 6, at Washington 1: Yadier Molina’s three-run homer was all the Cardinals needed against the Nationals, who ended their scoreless streak at 22 innings.
* Houston 2, at Pittsburgh 0: Lance Berkman and Miguel Tejada doubled in runs, Wandy Rodriguez pitched six shutout innings in his second start after coming off the disabled list and the Astros ended a five-game losing streak.
* at Milwaukee 7, Arizona 1: Ryan Braun hit a two-run home run and Seth McClung (3-2) gave up a run and six hits over six innings. The Brewers scored three in the eighth on homers by J.J. Hardy and Prince Fielder.
* at Philadelphia 3, Cincinnati 2: Pat Burrell hit a tiebreaking two-run homer and Adam Eaton pitched 6 2/3 impressive innings.
* at Atlanta 5, Florida 4: Chipper Jones hit a three-run homer and Greg Norton came through with a two-run double in the eighth inning. The Marlins have lost six of seven.
* Chicago 9, at San Diego 6: Alfonso Soriano hit a three-run homer and Mark DeRosa added a two-run shot. The Cubs have won nine in a row.
* Colorado 3, at Dodgers 0: The Rockies ended an eight-game losing streak.
