Italian ruling: Don’t fool around

Italy’s highest court has ruled that the paramilitary police, the Carabinieri, must shun extramarital affairs to avoid sullying the name of the force, whose motto is “Faithful through the centuries.”
The ruling stemmed from one Carabiniere’s appeal against a lower court ruling sentencing him to four months in jail for threatening a boss who asked him to break off an affair with a married woman.
