A police officer was shot in the leg Sunday morning in front of a motel while investigating a report of indecent exposure.
About 7:50 a.m., two police officers responded to reports that a man in his 40s was exposing himself through a motel room window in the 2000 block of South Harbor Boulevard.
The man got into his vehicle as officers arrived, and shots were fired. One of the officers was hit in the leg and sustained non-life-threatening injuries, said Sgt. Rick Martinez. The suspect drove away in a white four-door sedan.
Martinez said detectives on the scene were investigating.
