Puck can’t make rival alter name

Wolfgang Puck can’t make competitor Wolfgang Zwiener change the name of his Beverly Hills steakhouse while defending a trademark claim, a judge ruled.
Zwiener shouldn’t immediately rename Wolfgang’s Steakhouse by Wolfgang Zwiener because Puck doesn’t have a good chance of succeeding in the case, U.S. District Judge Gary Feess ruled Friday in Los Angeles.
Calling the case the “battle of the Wolfgangs,” Feess said Puck failed to show a likelihood of success on the merits and failed to demonstrate any “irreparable injury.”
Puck says Zwiener’s steakhouse confuses diners because it’s on the same street as Puck’s Spago and a block from his steakhouse, Cut.
