Firefighters found four charred bodies Monday afternoon while fighting a fire in a single-family house outside Lancaster, authorities said.
The blaze was reported shortly after 5 p.m. in the 43200 block of N. 45th Street, southwest of central Lancaster, a Los Angeles County fire official said.
The cause of the deaths and the “possibly suspicious” fire are under investigation by arson and homicide investigators of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Sgt. Paul Dino said.
The remains have not been identified.
“They’re burned so bad we don’t know” ages or gender, Dino said.
