Broadway cast: Grammy-winning singer India.Arie will make her Broadway debut in a revival of Ntozake Shange’s “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide / When the Rainbow Is Enuf.” India.Arie will open in the play Sept. 8 at New York’s Circle in the Square.

Memoir deal: Singer-songwriter Shawn Colvin is working on a memoir, “A Few Small Repairs,” which HarperCollins said it tentatively plans to publish in the fall of 2009.
