Girl struck by vehicle dies

An 8-year-old girl died Thursday morning after being struck by a car Wednesday while crossing the street, police said.
The girl, whose name was not released, had been in critical condition since she was struck, Pomona Police Cpl. Bert Sanchez said.
The girl darted onto Garey Avenue south of Grand Avenue and was struck by a 1999 Toyota 4Runner, Sanchez said.
The driver has not been cited, although an investigation is ongoing.
