Re “Conflict in Gaza: bloodshed continues,” Jan. 5

Why not discuss how this helps or hinders America’s other interests in the Middle East? Hundreds of thousands of Americans have faced hardship and possible death trying to reshape Iraq. How are Israeli actions helping our efforts?

If these bombings aren’t helping, then why is the American taxpayer subsidizing these attacks? Israel acted similarly in Lebanon in 1982 until President Reagan said enough. Aren’t we failing both American and Israeli interests by not saying “enough already” now?
