Re “UC cuts freshman enrollment for fall,” Jan. 15
I can’t decide whether it’s ironic or sad that on the day the UC system announces enrollment limits, another college athlete announces that he’s turning pro.
So many high school students work so hard to gain admittance to a great university. They don’t have the benefit of being able to throw, kick, hit or dunk a ball. Who comes to their houses to recruit them to attend their college with big promises?
What these kids really want is an education -- not just a stepping stone until the better offers come in.
