Prevent immoral lending practices

Re: “2 new websites can help buyers save on closing costs, loans,” June 28:
“It’s the loans, not the borrowers” that drove the housing and mortgage debacle, a Ford Foundation executive said. “A lot of people were driven into inferior products, even when they qualified for prime loans.”
The quoted statements reflect immoral behavior that must be prevented. I can only hope we have learned from this and developed the proper safeguards for potential homeowners and the economy.
