CONSUMER BRIEFS / RECALLS

Macy’s is recalling about 33,000 Epic Threads and Greendog hooded sweat shirts for children because a drawstring at the base of the hood poses a strangulation hazard. The sweat shirts, which came in several styles and colors, were sold nationwide at Macy’s stores from July through March. The garments cost $32 to $50.
Consumers should remove the ties from the sweat shirts to eliminate the hazard or return the garment to any Macy’s for a refund, according to the recall announcement by Macy’s and the Consumer Product Safety Commission. No injuries were reported, the statement said. Information: (888) 257-5949 or www.macys.com.
