Regarding Susan Spano’s disappointing trip to the Riviera [“Trying on a Winter Cote,” Feb. 22]. I laughed as she recounted one faux pas after another. I actually felt like I was there with her. I know the area well, as my parents had a bungalow at Gaou Benat, but thankfully my experiences have all been fantastic. Naturally, I never went in the middle of winter, when the Cote d’Azur can be tricky. If travelers go there in the spring, summer or even fall, they will come away with more pleasant reports.
